Birmingham Airport is now over 70 years old, with its first ever flight in May 1939 from Liverpool by Dragon Rapide.  Soon after services to Croydon, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Ryde, Shoreham, and Southampton began.    In 1949 scheduled services from Birmingham Airport began, and soon passengers could fly to Zurich, Düsseldorf, Palma, Amsterdam and Barcelona.


Passengers can now fly to hundreds of destinations around the world from the airport, including most major European destinations as well as New York, Dubai, Toronto and Karachi.
